Hallo und herzlich willkommen auf meiner Webseite!
Ich heiße Jacqueline, bin 22 Jahre alt und habe an der Hochschule Trier Kommunikationsdesign studiert. In meiner Bachelorarbeit im Fach Fotografie habe ich mich mit dem Thema „The Balcony – Ein partizipatives Archiv über Drag, Travestie und Crossdressing” auseinandergesetzt.
Schon als kleines Mädchen war ich von Dragqueens und Travestiekünstler:innen begeistert. Besonders toll fand ich dabei das Glitzer und die Strasssteine. Was alles dahintersteckt, konnte ich noch gar nicht erfassen. Später begegnete mir Drag immer wieder auf dem CSD in Stuttgart, Trier, Tel Aviv oder Amsterdam. Als queere Person war Drag für mich immer wieder im Alltag präsent. Es ist eine wunderbare Inspirationsquelle für Freiheit und Kreativität, die über den Horizont hinausgeht. Ich selber bin in einer kleinen Stadt im Schwabenland aufgewachsen. Dort war das Thema leider kaum sichtbar.
In den letzten Jahren wurde mir klar, wie wichtig es ist, Drag, Travestie und Crossdressing auch in Dörfern, Kirchen und Kleinstädten sichtbarer zu machen. Mit dieser Webseite möchte ich das Thema den Menschen näherbringen, die vielleicht einen ersten Einstieg suchen und in einer vertrauten Umgebung erste Berührungspunkte finden möchten. Ich möchte informieren, Skepsis abbauen und für die Kunstform begeistern. Dabei ist es mir wichtig, auch auf die aktuelle politische Situation aufmerksam zu machen und gegen Missstände und Diskriminierungen zu kämpfen.
Hier findest du Interviews, Artikel, einen kleinen Blog über die Entstehung dieser Webseite und hauptsächlich viele fotografische Einblicke in die Welt des Drags, der Travestie und des Crossdressings. Es gibt viel zu entdecken über die Menschen und ihre Geschichten. Die Webseite soll ein Ort zum Stöbern und Inspirieren sein.
Dieses Projekt ist im Rahmen meiner Bachelorarbeit entstanden und wird in den kommenden Jahren weiter ausgebaut. Ich freue mich auf vielen tollen Menschen, Kunstwerke und Einblicke.

Hello and welcome to my website!
My name is Jacqueline, I'm 22 years old and I studied Communication Design at Trier University of Applied Sciences. In my bachelor's thesis in photography, I dealt with the topic "The Balcony - A participatory archive about drag, travesty and cross-dressing".
Even as a little girl, I was fascinated by drag queens and travesty artists. I particularly loved the glitter and rhinestones. I couldn't even comprehend what was behind it all. Later, I kept coming across drag at the CSD in Stuttgart, Trier, Tel Aviv and Amsterdam. As a queer person, drag was always present in my everyday life. It is a wonderful source of inspiration for freedom and creativity that goes beyond the horizon. I myself grew up in a small town in Swabia. Unfortunately, the topic was barely visible there. In recent years, I have realised how important it is to make drag, travesty and cross-dressing more visible in villages, churches and small towns. With this website, I would like to bring the topic closer to people who are perhaps looking for a first introduction and would like to find their first points of contact in a familiar environment. I want to provide information, reduce scepticism and inspire enthusiasm for the art form. It is also important to me to draw attention to the current political situation and to fight against injustice and discrimination.
Here you will find interviews, articles, a small blog about the creation of this website and, above all, many photographic insights into the world of drag, travesty and cross-dressing. There is a lot to discover about the people and their stories. The website is intended to be a place to browse and be inspired.
This project was created as part of my bachelor's thesis and will be expanded in the coming years. I look forward to meeting lots of great people, artworks and insights.
